We are looking for an intern to do research on how different weather models function and how can we map weather parameters. This is desk research and an intern is recommended to do at least 5-10 qualitative interviews. Following objectives are required for the literature review:
1) Determine the different weather parameters to be monitored.
2) Different ways to monitor weather parameters. Pros and cons of each defined way.
3) How does weather forecast work? (Show for 15min, 2 hours, 10 hours, 2 days, 15 days)
4) Give an example of different forecasting models. Pros and cons for each model. 5) How does granular weather parameters on-ground help in the weather forecast?
6) Show the industries where the weather forecast is required. What level of forecasting do they need? Give at least 10 examples.
Post the literature review, the student will be expected to work on running a weather model and develop forecasts and insights based on the available data.
2) MSc Physics department student.
3) Programming skills to run weather models (preferable)
4) 2-3 months time commitment (You will work independently from your home or hostel)
5) A weekly briefing on the work completed and things to be done during the next week.
6) You should have access to his/her own laptop or computer with the internet.

1) A report with all the necessary references is a must. The report will be of a maximum of 90 pages (excluding the appendix). The report is not limited to questions given above and the framework and questions for the report will be developed over the period of internship.Requirements:
